Urban Malm

Urban Malm is an artist who lives in Linköping, Sweden. He has an eye for details, colors and shapes and it is obvious when you see his work.

In the early 2000s, Urban started painting with a very special paint, a kind of oil, vegetable linseed oil paint, which you have for printing presses. The paint hardens and becomes hard and shiny, almost like car paint.

The technique is advanced and the color is built up with layers-on-layers, with, among other things, different palette knives. In some of the paintings, Urban also uses Swarowski crystals for striking details. Many paintings take Urban a long time to create. The result is modern art in contrasting colors, where the motifs are detailed. The very largest paintings are best as the rooms' great focus, the only dominant one on a large wall, with the right light.

When asked how long he has painted himself, he answers that he has always painted, it started already at a young age.

Urban only paints when he feels positive tendencies and his driving force lies in creating new works and constantly developing his artistic talent. It is also in the process that he finds his inspiration. It was not until 2007 that he really understood that his art was so popular that it was time to put together his first exhibition and seriously invest in art. This resulted in the exhibition "Color in Time". Since then, there have been many exhibitions that have been much appreciated.

Urban Art has a wide international audience that appreciates his paintings.
